With more critical workloads being hosted in the cloud as SaaS, the on-premise VM count has diminished and the need for over 30TB's of backup storage is no longer needed. Barracuda backup servers hardware were up for renewal, the current hardware model and cloud subscription was no longer needed.

Instead, a physical server running Windows Server 2012 R2 was configured to run Veeam Backup & Replication. After reconfiguration on one of their backend storage SAN, a 10TB volume was created to host all on-premise VM backups. Veeam Cloud Connect migrates backup copies to the cloud, and this backup solution has saved this client thousands of dollars in hardware and subscriptions.
